About the Program
This is a two-year program designed to teach students the fundamentals of automobile technology. Students will gain hands-on experience and foundational knowledge essential for a career in automotive service.
Certifications
Students have the opportunity to earn up to 8 industry-recognized certifications, as well as a state Inspection License during the second year of the program.
Career Options
Graduates can pursue careers working at dealerships or independently owned repair shops. The more knowledgeable and skilled you become, the greater your value to potential employers.
Instructor Information
The instructor brings 16 years of teaching experience at CCTC, extensive automotive technician expertise, ownership of a personal shop for 13 years, and 22 years of military service.

Auto Technology I

Course Description:
Auto Technology I (Certified) Course Code 8506 In this first course of the three course program sequence, students learn all aspects of repair, safety, and customer service by concentrating on the four primary ASE/NATEF certified areas: Brakes, Steering and Suspension, Electrical / Electronics, Engine Performance. Students who successfully complete this program sequence will be eligible to take and pass the respective ASE/NATEF exam and will be prepared for postsecondary education opportunities.

Auto Technology II

Course Description:
Automotive Technology II (Certified) Course Code 8507 In this second year course sequence, students learn all aspects of repair, safety, and customer service by concentrating on the four primary ASE/NATEF certified areas: Brakes, Steering and Suspension, Electrical/Electronics, Engine Performance. Students who successfully complete this program sequence will be prepared to take and pass the respective ASE/NATEF exam and will be prepared for postsecondary education opportunities. The cooperative education method is available for this course. Students combine classroom instruction and supervised on-the-job training in an approved position with continuing supervision throughout the school year.
